Mapbook for ArcGIS 9.3

This course teaches how to install and use the free ArcGIS DS Mapbook Tools for the creation of hard copy and PDF/JPG mapbooks and mapbook pages.  Attendees will also receive the DS Mapbook Tools installer.  Using DS Mapbook Tools, a user can create mapbooks of any scale or content and of any specified area from a single ArcMap .mxd file.  This course will cover installation of the mapbook tools, creating grids of appropriate scale, legends and keys, insets, indexes and other important options.  Creating mapbook labels/annotation is covered in the Annotation course.

Creating good mapbooks is a time-intensive activity.  However, once created, you can maintain them easily and produce updates for individual pages as needed.

This course will be taught in ArcGIS 9.3.1.  The mapbook tools have been integrated in ArcGIS 10 and have been changed though they are similar.  A separate course is in development for using the ArcGIS 10 mapbook tools.
